Course overview
The General Insurance strand gives students an in-depth understanding of the general insurance market, concepts, legislation and codes of conduct that are of particular relevance to the provision of general insurance services, in order to provide services in a professional manner. Risk management principles are applied to general insurance situations, and the relationship between insurance needs and general insurance product types are considered in the context of identifying appropriate solutions. In addition, the processes for creating, maintaining (including reviewing) and ending general insurance contracts are covered.
This strand is suitable for those wishing to work in the areas of risk advising, underwriting, accounts management, product specialist, claims specialist, and insurance broking.
